Funded by an award from Carnegie Corporation of New York to the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington, the Space Security Initiative (SSI) aims to develop a standing forum in the Pacific Northwest of academics, professionals, and other stakeholders with an interest in matters of outer space security. The work of the SSI focuses on space technology development in the context of industrial strategy, domestic politics, international relations, military security, and environmental protection. By linking diverse academic researchers with public, private, and military stakeholders in the space security field, the SSI project encourages a holistic approach to linking academia to national and international policy.
